Seller and I have exchanged several messages, by the eBay message system . . . very annoying; very nutty; truly bizarre . . . re the $24,900 watch sold by Christie's, this morning I mentioned that there are real differences between the 1963/64 Corvettes, and the Corvettes from around 1970.
Through it all, he will not provide any additional, high quality photos and he won't receive or place a phone call to discuss the watch.
If he wants to post a message here, that will be fine. I'm sure we all stand to learn a lot from him!!
I'm done with him and this Seafarer, so others can give it a go!!

: I can not stop laughing, and felt that I needed to spend my energy
: on writing this post. This is in regard to the AF Seafaarer on
: eBay currently, that keeps jumping in price and auction
: format....
: When this was initially listed, you had the opportunity to Make an
: Offer. So I attempted with two separate offers, but was declined
: on both. So I decided to contact the seller directly and ask
: what the price was they were willing to accept, b/c I only had
: one more "Offer" left. They never gave me a number,
: but said that my offers were too low. Shortly after, the listing
: got canceled, and then it popped up for $50k, and then another
: one at $25k, and finally now has been listed as an auction!
: Which "amazingly" has a bid at $8925! It must ben a
: genuine bid! ;)
: Prior to this one bid that was recently placed, I had sent them an
: email asking if they were going to lower the price again, since
: I was still interested, along with many other people, but the
: price was not quite there for market value. I got a response
: today:
: Direct Quote:
: "already bids for 8900, same people talking stuff bout me
: online forums are the ones trying to make deals offline. This is
: a rare piece, one similar at Chrisites sold last week for 25k
: plus 22% bp. Major forums, websites Ceos, Museums trying to
: contact me to buy offline . there the ones, on forums talking
: trash, then they try to buy to lower price, this will end in two
: days enjoy, please bid be happy, thanks for all info, so fun.
: offered 12k offline refused, wanted the ebay gods to take over
: thanks.
: buyer fix, this price has gone up 300-3000% percent so rare and
: desirable ty."
: Sooooooo, do you think I should list my "Seafarer" for
: sale too? Do you think "Major Forums",
: "Websites", CEO's and Museums will contact me for a
: direct offer too? I think mine is rarer than the one listed on
: eBay and at Christie's. It's an Orvis!!! You always see Heuer's
: and AFs for sale, but how often do you see the Orvis version? :)
: Since mine is not the early version, rather the later version, I
: figured I would give a slight discount! :) What do you think if
: I asked for $24k plus 21% commission (will give the commission
: to charity)? Am I not a generous person for giving away the
: commission to a charity instead of myself! :)
: PS. If you know someone that might be able to help me connect with
: the eBay gods, can you please send me an email!
: In case you have not seen mine, it's not as nice as the eBay and
: Christie's version, but mine is an ORVIS!!! Don't be shy on
: making an offer. I might change the listing a few times, so you
: better act quick before I do!!!
