Re: Semi OT: Am I crazy to try this?

: Mike, not crazy, but doomed to fail.
:

: it may be a faulty, even lousy
: design, but it lasted 50 odd years.. rubber wont. For vintage
: watches go to a specialist, never an AD.
: HK has craftsmen adept at repairing vtg rolex bands, ask around and
: you'll find plenty.

I don't need a 50 year solution, in 20 years I'll be being disected by the students at the local training hospital, and my executors will have given the problem of clearing my very chaotic home to "specialists in house clearance". So it may wind up in the trash. Along with a first edition of the first map printed by the British Ordnance Survey (a copper plate print is so much more beautifull than electro!), and a map of Australia with the coastline incomplete and Botany Bay added by a different engraver to the rest of the map.
