I'm afraid its more complex than that
In Response To: Re: Is that wrong? ()

Amer makes a very valid point that a period Ed.Heuer donor bridge would correct this seemingly incorrect component but i'm afraid its more complex than you may have imagined. All the 2444's i've seen have the wrong font for Ed.Heuer and a numbered movement bridge. Its sadly only the very first full-lume hands that had the movement numbers. Even then they fall into a very tight bridge number range starting with 4565xx up to 4566xx !
The watch being discussed for auction at the moment has a 53xxx case serial number & in my mind it should not have a bridge movement number in place, only the Ed.Heuer & Co SA bridge ( without the Heuer symbol ). These were present from circa 1962-1964 only.

Other potential donor watches with this bridge do come up for sale but are rare & expensive in their own rights !!!!

Further observations on the ebay 2446 , i believe the pusher caps are correct. These are not the smaller 4mm caps we see on the majority of 2446 & 3646's with a serial number under 50000. It seems as Heuer put the 1st model Autavia's into production a change of specification was made for watches over the 50000 number.
The crown is questionable - whilst it should not be Heuer marked the majority of models in this serial range seem to have a crown thats not quite so wide.

Other than these facts the watch is in overall nice condition. The case, dial & in particular the bezel are in lovely shape. I'd be happy to strap this baby to my wrist & call it my own anyday but sadly the price zone this is headed for is a long way beyond my current purchasing power.
Good luck if you're a forum reader & planning to bid on this one.
Cheers - Darren
