I'm also willing to challenge the sellers call on the serial number ! It may well be a mild case of dyslexia as i have had 3 of this model GMT through my hands & all three had serials that started 205xxx. In fact, if indeed yours is serial 205499 all three i've owned are within 50 of your example ( making for an very tight spread in serials ) !

: Serial number (per seller) is 250499; bracelet is marked 4/70
: (fourth quarter / 1970).

: Needs a crystal and some TLC, but I'm happy with this one.
