Update.......Autavia re-issue recieved today, and its great,.......as the Scots would say.....you'd have thought i'd won a watch. Anyhow, having spent far to many nights on the internet, drinking far to much coffee and looking at far too many different watch pictures and sites,i am hooked on buying more Heuers. I have a few questions though......
Firstly original Autavia and Carrera and Verona's look good to me,but as you know nothing too small, like the re-issue carrera auto's,so.... what Cal movements should i be looking for and which of these movements is more collectable?
.
The "Siffert's" look great, 2 dial and 3 dial,is one of these more collectable than the other? and is the black dial Autavia less collectable.
Which movements are Auto's or do both dial configurations come with Auto and Manual movements........or is this the difference between Cal 11 and Cal 12........is my head going to explode........more coffee,fags.....help.
And importantly are there recommended purchase places ?.
Many Thanks
Bryan......{big smiley faced,with Autavia on wrist}
to my eye, the Verona looks like a fatter
: version of the Carrera. case has the same
: traditional shape / lugs . . . it's just
: deeper, to accomodate the Cal 12 movement.
: Most days, I prefer the Autavia to the Carrera,
: so maybe a vintage Autavia would fit the
: bill. It's definitely larger than the Jack
: Heuer Carrera, but keeps the traditional
: lay-out of the dial)as compared to the
: Lemania 5100-powered Heuers. The 70's era
: Autavias (like the two "Sifferts"
: shown below) will be larger in every
: dimension; the manual-wind Autavias will be
: about the same thickness as the Carrera, but
: the rotating bezel will give it more
: diameter.
: Here is the recommended game-plan. Exchange the
: Jack Heuer Carrera for the Autavia re-issue.
: If you enjoy the re-issue Autavia, then
: consider moving into the vinatge Autavias.
: Please keep us informed of your progress.
: Thanks,
: Jeff
