Please keep your eye on this thread for a few more hours . . . I will share some thoughts about this watch.
My belief -- Heuer never produced any complete watches using these dials, but it did have the dials made.
I do not see any issues with today's collectors making watches, by using these dials. I do have issues with the description that Christie's has published.
Give me a few hours, and I will be interested to have your reaction!!

: I am confused a little bit (what else is new one might add)
: It seems to me the general consensus here is that its most likely a
: 'put together' watch , or 'Frankenwatch' as we (the collector
: community) calls these
: Yet there doesnt seem to be a big outrage about this and the
: estimated price , which seems high to me for a Frankenwatch, is
: accepted as well
: Coming from a different area (Vintage Breitling mostly) we really
: do 'frown' (politically stated) on these put together watches or
: even watches that are even slightly incorrect or smell incorrect
: is this accepted as almost fact in the Heuer world , and is less
: emphasis put on originality and more on desirable dials than on
: the 'correctness' of the watch itself as a whole ?
: trying to learn here
: thanks
