On the film set

This week I've been examining and taking part in a video recording about the first computer off the production line of a major manufacturer. Here, in a nice warm office, I am pointing to the CPU of an example of the Mark 2 version which had been my own computer at home for 6 years. When we're discussing the Mark 1 I am wearing two wool jumpers and a fleece on top because it's so cold in the museum's storage warehouse. Well warehouse is a bit of an exageration, it's six old pig barns -- but dry and stuffed full of very significant computers. I changed the watch for an anti-static strap before I pulled the circuit boards out of the machines on camera.

The final video is unlikely to come to a motion picture house near you.

Have a relaxed weekend folks, I'll be catching up on some sleep.

Mike
