Re: What is wrong
In Response To: What is wrong ()

Awesome post Paolo! Thank you for all the great information. It really helped me learn more about 3647 carrera. And that fake is hard to identify. ... hope we don't see more of this in the future. ...

One more question for you, I always want to know what's the difference between silver print and white print on 3647 ? One is earlier than other? And why heuer changed color of the dial print ?

Thank you again.

: Hello Jeff, Tim, Tony:
http://m.ebay.com/itm/HEUER-Carrera-45-ref-3647N-Vintage-Chronograph-Classic-Mk1-Black-/361444076157?_trkparms=aid%253D222007%2526algo%253DSIC.MBE%2526ao%253D1%2526asc%253D20150519202348%2526meid%253D92d86f5d64534b07b00ca56e0a0ef99f%2526pid%253D100408%2526rk%253D2%2526rkt%253D10%2526mehot%253Dpp%2526sd%253D151909873672&_trksid=p2056116.c100408.m2460
: I agree with you, the fishy 3647 on ebay has now 112 followers, and
: surely it will sell.
: Unfortunately the watch has been bought from parts, and most of
: them have never seen the Heuer factory.

: I criticized the movement: you can just perform a simple query on
: google images, typing "Heuer Valjoux 92"
: and you'll find out that the 3647 we are talking about has
: engravings made with very different typo from all the movements
: you see in the google results.

: Here is the comparison, first is the fake engraved and then the
: other two ebay watches that we are talking about in this
: thread.

:

:

: About hands:

: the typical central second hand of the 60s Heuer watches has a
: deltoid-shaped queue.
: Also, the little hands in the subregister are too long, they reach
: the border of the register while they should cover just a small
: part of the
: markers.

:

: About dial, it's not easy to see from pictures, but markers in the
: registers look too heavy while the Heuer shield is printed with
: a very thin line.
: Not the same look we are used to see. Incidentally, most of watches
: from same seller show dials with these features. Why?

: What i would like to transmit is that comparing just prices of
: watches has small sense, the first and main comparison has
: always to be about quality and genuinity.
: Only after that assumption we can say if a price justified or not.

: My compliments to the buyer of the carrera sold at 6400, it's
: genuine, beautiful, in need of anything but a crystal
: cleaning!
