I have been working a lot on the database, not least finding my way around Carreras - I thought Autavias were complicated!
It is now possible to enter Autavia, Carrera and Monaco. The other Heuer chronos will follow.
All comments are welcome. I am especially uncertain if I did it right with the Carreras. What options should be in the “Special?” section of Carrera?

There has been a lot of response on this initiative and I will try to address them here.

Will enough collectors enter their watches?
Jeff says he have close to 1000 serial numbers so that alone will be a fantastic boost. But other important collectors with rare and special pieces must also participate. Richard and Paul of Autavia book fame probably also has extensive data and other collectors might have their secret archives - Henrik about Skippers for example.
Last but not least all more moderate collectors must take the time to enter their Heuers for the project to succeed.
-------------
Is there a smarter way to do it?
MikeC made the data into a spreadsheet which might give more possibilities and better security.
But I am no expert and don’t know how you make a spreadsheet accessible on the web in a way so that we can all enter data.
If somebody can do all this and want to take over it is fine with me.
-------------
Will OTD host the database?
That will of cause be the perfect way to promote it and to give it the credibility that is necessary for it to grow big.
-------------
Security?
With the KNACK web based software that I use there are a few issues:
They might not stay in business.
There is no automatic backup system, but I can manually make a copy of the complete “app” now and then. It is also possible to export data (Commas (.csv) / Tabs (.txt) / JSON)
And what if I make a mistake and loses a lot of data?
-------------
Price?
The KNACK cost USD 39,-/month. I will pay that and if somebody then contributes that will be nice.
Or maybe TAG Heuer will advertise?

Keep the comments coming
