2015 was a very special year in my personal life. I chose the values of being a good father & having a personal life over the intense demand of my previous life as a manager of a busy bar in central Copenhagen. My new job ( looking after teenagers with autism, aspergers & ADHD ) offers many challenges but affords many rewards in various ways - i feel good about the work i do plus i no longer work nights or weekends which allows me a lot more time to enjoy time with my son.
The one negative is the difference in financial benefit, i no longer enjoy the watch budget i used to have & sadly this has happened at the same time that the vintage watch ( & vintage Heuer in particular ) market prices have exploded.
My new arrivals have been quite limited this year to a few purchases & a couple of long term projects seeing completion.
The year started very well with a watch i had long lusted after, a pre-WW2 mono-pusher.
This model 358 Flieger coming to me from Germany, shown here on a 1930's GF bracelet.
This one is certainly a rare watch & will remain with me as a "keeper".
Then a long term project returned to me as the final parts of this beautiful GMT were obtained.
2446C GMT - final execution
And in the same package as the 2446C GMT was this down to earth 980.006 quartz diver which has taken on the role of daily beater. It now lives on a green nato and is ready for duty at a moments notice.
I dont mind telling you all it has far exceeded my expectations.
Then this nice 1153 Carrera came ...
and left.
And then longest of long term projects returned to me ;-)
A rare black register 11630 GMT in very nice condition even considering its wearing an aftermarket bezel.
Aside from the watches a few tasty spare parts found there way into my spares box, surely destined to help me complete the various ongoing projects i have !!!

2015 saw great expansion in both the popularity & prices of the entire Heuer range. I welcome all the new readers, contributors & collectors to the fold - its great to have you on board.
I am a little saddened to see both the sharp increase in prices & the difficulty in obtaining any model that is a little unusual but i am slowly starting to accept that you all have as good taste as we established forum members :-) & this is quite simply a consequence of limited supply & increasing demand.
I have a few models i am chasing for 2016 but will keep that to myself so as not to raise their profile any further & thus increase my competition. Dont be surprised to see me as a net seller this year as i attempt to raise funds in the quest to change the balance/focus of my collection.
Happy Heuer hunting for 2016 - Darren
