Not sure I'd call the 2446C transitional and as you point out Peter, there are several executions of the screw-back case and more distinctly different dials, the 2446C is certainly less rare than any of the screw-back case Autavia 2446 iteration. As someone else points out in the comments section at the end of the article, I never knew a Zenith A386 was over $20k, quite sure I have never known one sell at that price (or even near) although I have two mint ones if there are any takers...;)
There are a lot of articles hyping watches at the moment, both in rarity/importance and their values, someday soon i'll read just how rare the 1163 Viceroy is...
