A couple of very quick reactions, based on wearing the watch for a few hours:

• While the finish quality of the watch looks weak in the high resolution photo of the watch, keep in mind that this photo is at least 50 times the size of the watch. Viewed from eye to wrist, the watch looks a lot better.
• Operation of the Landeron 187 is maddening, compared with a "normal" chronograph (Landeron 189, used by Heuer, on its Carrera 45 Datos, for example) . . . top pusher starts the chronograph; bottom pusher stops it and rests it; this takes some getting used to
• Quality of the stainless steel case is nice, but why in the world would anyone use these tiny pushers? It would be painful to push them hard!!
• Heresy to say it, but I kind of like the fat hands and markers.
• Quick Bottom Line -- If you are into vintage watches and want a stainless steel, two register chronograph, with date, this is a nice buy for under $1,000. I will leave it to others to decide the relative "values" as between this one (at under $1,000) and the Carrera 45 Dato, at eight to ten times that amount. If I wanted to spend $1,000 on a vintage chronograph, this one would be worth considering.
