I am not surprised. The watch was a steal, and I am sure someone local in Italy contacted the guy, offered him more money and would walk in with cash! Should not be shocked. I am sure many of us have lost a watch for this same reason at some point. I am not a big fan of Chrono24 style of selling, but I can't blame them for what a dealer is going to do. I look at Chrono24 more as a photo gallery of watches, since they never are up to date, and what's worse is there are no dates of when the item was listed, and many sellers fail to update the listing when a watch is not available. This is why I think Hodinkee will be doing a killer job, and it won't shock me if they end up with a much better marketplace for buyers/sellers at some point in the near future. Just my 2 cents!
