July 2015, and I was the first to respond to an offer of a Chronomatic Carrera (Ref 1158 / 18KG), as confirmed by seller . . . price was 13,500 Euro . . . not bad for such a rare / historic watch.

Hours later, seller accepted another offer, of around 25,000 Euro, requiring cash payment in a face-to-face transaction.

I spoke with Chrono24 . . . a very pleasant woman, who spoke complete nonsense, but in a friendly manner.

So I lost the watch and I imagine that the German tax authorities also lost out on a bit of income tax. This was a bitter disappointment, especially after the seller confirmed that I was first to respond and that he would sell me the watch.

My visits to Chrono24 have been rare in recent months . . . IMHO, the site has become just about worthless.
