the real article was printed in two colours: solid red and black.
the fake is printed in "full colour", like all glossy magazines or inkjets. in CMYK. four rollers of ink (or nozzles) will build the full colour spectrum.
BUT the "plates" need to be very carefully adjusted, and even on Heidelbergers you'll need a good operator to align the plates perfectly.
so the obvious is to look at the edges of areas: there it's most easy to see alignment errors of the plates/nozzles.
but even perfectly aligned plates still don't produces a solid red. look closely and you'll see small dots (of CMYK) if it's a fake.
also: the real boxes that I have:
dont have the cutouts the long sides.
have printed paper folded over the carton
have a number printed on the inside: o/89/5667/72/102
have a insert in the black part. (some are time stamped)
you wont see the small bits on the inside where it is glued.
your box is a fake: it looks exactly like the 1 fake I do have.
don't bin it: keep it it for visual reference.

: ...decided to take it out and make sure first.
: Yesterday and this morning I posted this Autavia box for sale on CT
: as I was under the impression that it was genuine, however as
: another item which I posted proved to be a reprint I also
: removed this box from sale and threw it in the trash.
: However before I get rid of it completely, can someone here please
: let me know if this box is indeed a replica? I always thought it
: was original.
: Many thanks,
: Marc
