Really interesting watch. The catalog states it is property descendants of Ronnie. It would be interesting to know more about the provenance of the watch, particularly when it was presented to him by Jack Heuer.
I have never seen this dial in this case, but it is possible that it came out the Heuer factory like that, as we have seen quite a few regular 1153 steel Carreras with the cotes de Geneve 'oval sub' dials. I believe these are accepted as correct watches.
That's why I'd be interested when it was given to RP; if it was later in the production history of the 1158 then it is more likely the watch came out the factory like that.
Really interesting watch; how many actual F1 driver 1158s are in collectors hands?
I also love those milanese bracelets, they are amazing 'in the metal'.
