Excellent Reporting and Photos, John!!

John:

We always appreciate your reporting from "The Brickyard", and of course the magnificent photos.

It was a fun race to watch; enjoyed rooting for Josef Newgarden, after you declared him to be a favorite; a shame that the race didn't end with two drivers battling to cross the finish line first, but we are all accustomed to "fuel strategy" often determining the race winner. There was definitely some great racing during the day, even if not on the last couple of laps.

Thanks again for the beautiful photos and interesting reports.

Jeff

: I have been a huge F-1 fan all of my life. I love the LeMans
: prototypes...not a big NASCAR fan. Having said that there is
: nothing in the world like the Indy 500. It is:

: The largest single day sporting event in the world (350,000
: attendance this year)

: The longest running race in a single venue in the history of
: motorsport (100 years)

: The fastest race in the world with laps at 230mph/370kph.

: Although all of the turns are right (like an oval) they are flatish
: and each turn is different. It is really more like a road race.

: Here was my view of today's start...
