What a beautiful and rare bird!!!
Seems just in need of movement service, all the rest is very nicely preserved.
Enjoy it!
Paolo
: That's right! Just arrived via the son of the original owner, whose
: father purchased it in the 1960's but rarely wore it because he
: preferred gold watches instead. He then gifted it to his son in
: the early 90's, as he needed a watch to wear to his first job
: and the Carrera had been sitting in a drawer for decades
: anyways. The son enjoyed it, but when he learned the cost of
: servicing it soon after, decided to follow in the family
: tradition of tucking it away in a drawer. And thank goodness he
: did!
: First order of business will be to send it away to get serviced, as
: it has some dust flecks under the crystal and isn't running at
: the moment (hey, it couldn't all be perfect, could it?),
: but the movement looks clean to my eye, so hopefully it's a
: relatively easy fix. Will post a follow-up in the coming weeks
: (hopefully not plural months...) once it's been looked after.
: For now, however, enjoy a few snaps I took after receiving it
: tonight!
: Cheers,
: Rob
