It is not at all unusual for watches from any manufacturer to be sold a year or more later than they were manufactured. The sale date does not necessarily have much to do with the manufacturing date. Your watch's serial number can be compared to the list of known runs to get a better idea of when it was made, however, the idea of "made" is also a bit nebulous. Cases were ordered in batches but the serial numbers do not necessarily reflect the order in which they were "made."
It is interesting to speculate about exactly when a watch was "made" but usually we can never know for sure when the watch is a Heuer.
I hope somebody will argue with me about this...I have been wrong before.
