I have no idea (or experience) about whether soldering on a new foot would damage the paint on the front. I guess the best way to use this would be to secure it on the one foot, then use sticky dial pads to stop the possibility of it rotating. I think that would secure it quite well, but of course having the correct pair of feet would be better. In any case, the missing foot is perhaps the least of its worries considering the fairly obvious marks on the front.
