Yesterday I went to a small watch fair in the Netherlands and was very surprised and pleased to meet an old Italian friend who leased a table for selling some vintage Heuers and other Heuer related stuff.
The watch that attracted me the most was the AMI 510.543 it, released for the Italian Air Force in the early and mid eighties. After a talk with Pier and his lovely wife and a tour at the fair I decided to give it a try. A little negotiating later I bought the watch. Pier offered me also an extra crown as these are very hard to get.

In the 200 km driving back to my home place in Belgium I got all the time a smile on my face.
