I'm definitely not going to cover all 100 of the watches, but thought that it would be fun to highlight some of the interesting items, over the next few days.
I find this pair of stopwatches intriguing, especially the sticker on the back of the case. We start with the stopwatches themselves -- a matching pair of 1/100 second stopwatches, with the usual three-function crown (stop / reset / start). And, of course, the "Wing and Wheel" logo on the dial!!
The red rubber case is from "Champion", the maker of spark plugs, and long associated with racing and Heuer.
But most interesting -- at least to me -- is the sticker on the back of the case. Study the table, and you will see that it converts seconds and tenths of seconds, around the 2-1/2 mile oval, into miles per hour. Lap it in 44.3 seconds, and the speed is 203.16 miles per hour. Trim that to 44.0 seconds, and you have hit 204.55 miles per hour. How cool is that!!
We don't know whether this was used in the pits, or in the stands, but you can be pretty sure that these stopwatches timed some laps at the Old Brickyard, in the 1960s!!
Here's the listing in the Heuer 100 online catalog -- https://theheuer100.com/product/heuer-dash-mount/
