Hi folks, what a fantatasic day at Tag Heuer!!!
Met with Jack Heuer & Jean Claude Biver, saw the preview 1st ever 2017 preproduction Autavia ( its amazing - all vintage Autavia fans will want this watch ), drove a Tesla on a drag strip, ate like a king, drank fine drinks, toured the factory & saw the vintage watch service workshop, received goodies from Tag Heuer, had loads of care & attention by the woderful staff at Tag & all in the company of some of the most informed & commited vintage Heuer collectors from around the world !!
Just a few photos now to give you a taste as i need to write a full report for you. Enjoy
Firstly & most importantly have a look at this.
To the left - my 1962 1st execution Auatavia 2446. To the right - the 1st ever pre-production 2017 Autavia - i love it.
In the Tag Heuer museum - Ronnie Peterson's 18k gold Carrera given to him originally by Jack Heuer
Looking on at the computers the design team used to design the 2017 Autavia
They even have an original 60's Gay Freres double rice bracelet as inspiration whilst designing the bracelet for the new watch along side an early plastic mock up of the Autavia
A private tour through the rare parts archives in the boardroom
Amazing service parts for the vintage service area - no we were not allowed any parts !
Inspirational speach then lunch with Jack Heuer - ( he's still sharp for an 84 year old )
And get to drive a Tesla on the Tag Heuer private drag strip behind the corporate building
Lots more info & photos to come when i have time to compile a complete report - we have another day tomorrow at the dial & movement factory.
Cheers - Darren
