I'd like to chip in here by strongly seconding the thought below. Buy what you really want to wear, then make it a point to wear it in public. Remember it might get knocked around a little, but if it really is important to you, you'll make a note to take care of it, if only a subconscious note. I wore my Heuer for 10 years in a very demanding environment and it proved its mettle time and again. I have had work done on it since, and I suppose that has lowered the overall value, but what price can be put on the memories. I look at the watch now and think of all we've been through, and it makes it all the better. If you become a really SERIOUS collector (unlike me) then go ahead and buy two with the idea that one remains in storage or pristine condition .
