serial number : 224797
1163 on the other lug and no v
I've been told cal 12 but I've never opened it.
I corresponded with Jeff about my Autavia on fb about 1 month ago. This is the first chance I've had to try and pick up the subject again.
This is the information that Jeff gave me
"This looks like a Pre-Viceroy maybe around 1971. What is movement? Cal.11i? MH Bezel appears original to watch. Based on discussion on OTD, we are seeing the numerals 1-through-12 on the hour recorder and the Viceroy style hands, with MH bezel in the 204xxx, 222xxx and 223xxx ranges in early Pre-Viceroy Autavia's.
S/N is later than pre-Viceroy, Cal.12 but w/MH Bezel."
Looking at this article here http://thoughts.onthedash.com/thoughts/field-guide-to-the-heuer-autavia-reference-1163-black-dial/
looks like V dial and hands? What would make sense for the serial number but they forgot to stamp V on the case?
Any ideas or other areas to explore?
