Odd Serial Number -- Orvis Solunagraph

Do we have any explanation (or precedent) for an Orvis Solunagraph, in a Reference 2446 SF case, with the 324142 serial number? Or maybe a Seafarer or Mareographe?

It's listed on eBay, here -- http://www.ebay.com/itm/132009174953

In my list of serial numbers, the highest number that I have for a Reference 2446C case is around 197xxx.

324xxx would be approaching the early Monzas, so let's call that 1976 or 1977.

Could Orvis have ordered a few more of these Solunagraphs, several years after the normal run was completed? Any other explanation?

Jeff
