Hi everyone
It has become clear to me that the majority of people did not seem to appreciate my listing.
Firstly, I will say that we are not Heuer experts & have only ever sold 2 or 3 in the past 10 years. Reason being, we don't know the brand inside out and do not claim to. Nonetheless our buyer had got this from a reputable auction house (which if you are Heuer collectors you should probably know which auction house) We were told by them that this is completely original and was owned by a local chap since new. What reason would we have to dispute that?
Still... We did our own research and a lot of the factual information in the listing was taken from this site. On The Dash mentions, when talking about Autavias, that there were crossover models and changed certain parts in the early numbers of the 196 series. So again to criticise us for this seems odd when the information was provided from this very site.
You can also have an opinion on my description style, thats fine! You may not like it but i prefer to describe watches in this way to give a more interesting read. Please tell me what is wrong with talking about why i like it and using descriptive words? - So this point is nothing more than me recognising trolling on a forum. Well done to the people who hide behind their keyboards making fun of people who try to do things a little different. I'm sure your Autavia GMT's are much better.
To the person who commented on the hands not being original. Please feel free to contact us to explain why they are not original to this GMT? Just because you think they are not does not make you right. You are in fact wrong and the hands are original to this watch, but hey you managed to comment on something so that's something to be pleased about!
Whether you like the sub dials or not - I do and they are exactly the definition of Tropical. Ok, I get that saying "it was mother nature" is clearly very funny to all of you but that does not take away the fact that these are Tropical whether you appreciate them or not.
Before this watch was listed we spoke to another reputable well known (more so for watches) Auction house who advised that this watch could achieve anything from £10,000 to in excess of £25,000 Depending on who is there or watching on the day. Something is worth as much as someone wants to pay. There is no right or wrong price. As i said, we don't know the brand inside out and therefore was not sure where to place it price wise in the market so we decided to use the higher estimate but to allow for offers.
If anyone wants to give advice then that is more than welcome and appreciated and if it's right we will use that information but as far as we are aware (and according to On The Dash website) nothing we said was incorrect and was information that is on the internet for everyone to see. The person who mentioned about the hands being incorrect though. you don't need to comment.
So to summarise, in a not so descriptive way, if anything i have said about the GMT has offended anybody or angered them in someway then we apologise as that is not our intention, but remember you're having a go at someone because they perhaps don't know as much as you do about one watch in particular.
Thanks to those who can appreciate that we are just doing our jobs. I have removed the watch now and will list it without so many words and will just use facts.
