I agree with you, Abel . . . as always.
Both sets of hands seem to be polished, but the geometry of the hands / the red stripes / the lume areas is very different.
I believe that the top photo (with the more rectangular hands) is standard Mark 4 production . . . I have heard that the tapered / pointy hands, with the small dabs of paint at the end, are service hands.

: Hello Jeff,
: I am a bit confused.
: Untill now I did not see any 2446c GMT yet with "brushed"
: hands!?? As far as I know they all have polished hands. The
: earlier ones were plain, without red stripe....the last ones
: have a red stripe. But they are all polished and not
: brushed/matte as far as I know? Am I missing something?
: In the photos you included, they both have the polished hands with
: red stripe...but there seems to be a difference in the shape of
: the hands. The one above I think uses later style, and they look
: very similar to the Monaco style hands (except that Monaco hands
: are brushed rather then polished ofcourse), a bit more square.
: The watch in the second photo uses the "classic" shape
: of hands, similar to the earlier ones...tapered.
: Best,
: abel.
