Thanks Jeff. I want to clarify the new watch definition. I have bought and owned many new watches from ceramic subs, to JLC Masters to whatever but I have never bought one new at a jewelry store. Today I went into Reis Nichols main store in Indy because my friend who is the watch manager posted a picture of this watch. I was just going to take a look...but...after I put it on my wrist I couldn't take it off. It looks good on my big wrist and it feels really comfortable. It is not a light watch to pick up but it wears effortlessly. The bracelet is so much better designed than the vintage version and the overall balance of the watch on the wrist is close to perfect. You and I have discussed the date thing a lot and I know you could care less about the date complication but as you know, I like watches with a date. For me the date window is perfect on this watch. It is a perfect addition.
The new Autavia is unquestionably a modern watch. However, it is a modern watch for the vintage watch nerd. I am sure this will become my main wearer. I won't be too worried about a ding or two as with an old Heuer but it still satisfies my vintage vibe.
