Perfect use of a great marketing slogan! I am pleased to have played a part.
I regret not taking time to attend. But my wife and her sister really enjoyed the auction and meeting Jeff and some of you who attended. I was informed you were all such nice gentlemen, confirming my expectations.
So, I find myself suddenly Heuer-less. Gotta correct that!
: Thanks to everyone who was part of the NYC GTG and Christie's
: NYC auction, Tuesday and Wednesday.
: I’ve spent 18 years in this crazy watch collecting hobby, and the
: time together with members of the community -- between the GTG
: Tuesday evening and the hammer falling on Lot 239 Wednesday
: afternoon -- was one of the very best experiences yet.
: We enjoyed a fantastic get-together, arranged by Eric Wind and
: funded by Adam Golden [shout out to Menta Watches], hung out
: during the Christie’s auction, saw some special watches fetch
: some strong prices [shout out to Mike, for a story with a happy
: ending . . . #DontCrackUnderPressure], and saw Hodinkee launch a
: new version of the Skipper.
: Of course, there’s a lot to discuss about each of these items . .
: . for every point, a counter point. But for now let me just say
: “thanks” to all the members of this amazing community.
: It’s been a fantastic week, and there’s still Friday remaining
: . . . and who knows what that could bring . . . wink, wink!!
: Jeff
