: This is my first post here, I am a member of TRF, more of a Rolex
: guy, nobody's perfect, I know : ) but I wanted to share the
: story of this beautiful 2447.
: The watch has been family owned since 1969. My father in law always
: had a passion for British racing cars and back in the 50s, 60s
: and 70s he went to countless racing courses to watch the races.
: And yes, he owned and still owns and maintains fabulous cars.
: At the time the only watch to wear was a Heuer Carrera, well at
: least he thought that was the case, so he travelled to
: Switzerland to buy one. He fancied this particular model and to
: avoid duty and VAT he wore the watch on his upper arm when he
: crossed the border. Unfortunately that meant that he had to dump
: the original case, but at least he managed to smuggle the
: original papers across which we still have.
: The watch has not been worn for at least twenty years, but I have
: had it serviced recently by an independent watchmaker and
: occasionally it get's some proper wrist time.
: So, here it is, 2447 NST, one owner, and no, not for sale : )
: Hope you like it.

Congratulations! As much as the watch is spectacular in itself, the story makes it really that much cooler.
It looks in perfect condition as well.
You are right not to sell it: enjoy the piece, and maybe one day you'll have some stories of your own with it ;)
