I saw this watch on ebay and, as I'm not an expert, I thought I would ask for opinions on this forum: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Vintage-Heuer-Monnin-Automatic-/202035679991?hash=item2f0a43d2f7:g:USIAAOSwRJ1ZoKuy
This thing looks pretty fake to me. First, that orange dial looks like the reproduction dials that have been available on ebay. Second, that case doesn’t even look right – even though the actual cases used by Heuer seem to have been commonly used by other manufacturers and aren’t exactly rare. The case on this one looks like cases that have been sold recently by a reputable ebay seller in France (http://www.ebay.com/itm/BOITIER-ACIER-SUBMARINER-CADRAN-AIGUILLES-POUR-ETA-2824-2-ETANCHE-200-METRES/201707723645?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&_trksid=p2060353.m1438.l2649). The case might also be the same one used on this O&W diver: http://www.ebay.com/itm/OLLECH-WAJS-PROFESSIONAL-DIVER-200-Meters-ETA-2824-2-/202030774725?hash=item2f09f8f9c5:g:3RoAAOSwnK9ZU6nW
Even this other offering doesn’t seem likely to be genuine, as the dial really looks like the reproduction and looks so much newer than the hands, case, etc.: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Heuer-Monnin-Diver-Watch-/263165214862?hash=item3d45de808e:g:WyIAAOSw9ytZnwnv
I like these watches, but if these are not real, then selling them as such is fraud. Thanks for any information or opinions you can offer.
