Heres a conundrum
I have found a lovely NOS early Siffert Autavia with a Cal 11 movement. The watch is near faultless except some paint flaking on the hands and an age spot on the dial but heres the problem :
when I look at it under the glass I can detect a crack in the bridge plate (bit stamped cal 11)and I am concerned that if the crack propogates then the movement will implode.
I have a Heuer cal 12 bridge do you think its ok to get this bit fitted just to be sure. I am likely to sell the watch in the near future because I cannot even justify the cost to myself it to myself at the moment so I want it to be "right" for the new owner.
Any strong opinions
