I remember buying my first 'big money' Heuer from Rich.. it was a mint Fume Silverstone, priced at around £3k - This was a big step for me. This was a lot of £ for a Heuer, and I spoke to Rich on the phone, I remember him saying that he had to sell a few watches, as his wife wanted a new kitchen... now she can buy a new house!!
Both Rich and Paul extended the warmest of welcomes to me, and although I've never actually met them, I feel we have that early Heuer bond, and I'd call them friends. We have traded info, watches, and above all, a love for the brand over the years.
I wish them both well in this special auction.
PS. Heuer stories... I remember selling an early 3446 with dauphine hands.. I remember Paul saying it was a bit too much money at around £2k. I also remember turning down a watch from Rich, as I thought it was to much money - it was a 2446 with the super rare tachy dial, I think he wanted £4k for it!
Oh, if we all had a time machine!!
