Never Any Need for You to Apologize

Please, please, please . . . no need for you to apologize.

No offense, from my perspective and your opinions are very important, to all of us!! Please never hesitate to express them.

We are all adjusting . . . realizing that when we sell at a crazy price, then we will no longer be acquiring at this same crazy price. And we look at the collection, and ask the question -- how much joy does it bring me on my wrist and is it worth the price of one year's college tuition (at expensive private school!!)? Or maybe we see the watch that we "missed" in the eBay auction at $4,000 and now we will never own it at $24,000.

Still, I enjoy this hobby every day (or perhaps over 95% of the days) . . . we still learn new things, and we still meet interesting people.

: Hi Jeff, hi all,

: My apologies if I have offended someone, will try to explain better
: my sentence: given that OTD website and forum remain the
: "home sweet home" of all Heuer collectors,
: unfortunately the new media (as IG for example) made everything
: easier (as you told) despite the use of the forum... and this
: makes me a bit sorry... yes, I use IG too (and probably too much
: too) but I think we are probably exchanging the quantity (IG)
: for the quality (the Forum)...

: I read OTD every day but something has changed in my opinion... for
: sure the new platform you announced in the past will make easier
: and faster to post elaborate posts again (image storage is
: actually a problem as we saw recently with some image hosting
: websites).

: About the fact some old term collectors are selling their Heuer:
: since Heuer exit from the "under the radar" condition
: I see much more speculation than in the past, market is driying
: up more and more, is alwayz more difficult to find good pieces
: at honest prices... obviously I am happy that my watches hold
: their value (so I can obtain my money back in case I would be
: tired of collecting watches) but I always bought Heuer not as a
: pure investment (as many Rolex collectors do for example) but
: because I like wear them and collect them, so personally I would
: have preferred prices would remain slowly increasing rather than
: skyrocketing because this means that many models will be
: precluded more and more to my pockets... when someone asks me 25
: k€ for a good but not excellent and rather common Monaco 1133B
: with std matt dial or 3000€ for an 15640 Skipper dial
: (happened to me in Parma' s fair last month) well my first
: reaction is "time to change hobby or brand", but then
: the love for this brand suggests me to hold on selecting only
: the good and honest proposals...

: Obviously this is only my poor opinion, so please consider it for
: what it worths (2 cents).

: A warm regard to you Jeff an all the forum users.

: Gianluca
