In Response To: Why, why, why, why, why>>> ()

Why, why, why, why, why they did not put the hour register for the chronograph?

I would suspect it has to do with the design constraints for the Classics Re-Issue...
  • similar look to vintage Autavia's,
  • idiocyncratic crown at 9 o'clock
  • availability of the movement
  • as always profit margin is an issue.

So I suspect the easiest way to effect all of this was to use an off the shelf Dubois-Depraz piggy-back movement, rotated it 180 degrees to get the crown on the left of the case and re-engineered the pushers.

That could transform the watch into one of the best seller of the Heuer line.

Now personally, I would have prefered for them to use an El-Primero movement and "re-edition" the 7736 Autavia's... I'd put my name on the waiting list for one of those! For what it's worth, I prefer the Jo Siffert colors, but that's a personal taste and we all have those! =)

This is stoping me from buying this watch!!!

Maybe next year. We know TAG-Heuer knows about this forum, and OTD. In fact we know of some reasonably highly placed interest in the site. So it's very possible.

I saw one in person also, black dial version (I think the best color combination), yes the watch is kind of thin, maybe because they use screws to hold the case back (very flat), and the bracelet Chuck, is very comfortable.

It doesn't surprise me in the least. I was only casually thinking of buying the TAG-Heuer Kirium until I tried one on my wrist, I gasped and said "I'm in trouble... The is the most comfortable bracelet I've ever had on my wrist!" I waited about two or three weeks and broke down and bought one.

One can only hope that Heuer will make this historic chrono complete!!! and when they do I will one more time buy a TAG Heuer.

I hope so too!

Best regards,

Marcos

Likewise, keep your thoughts flowing towards Switzerland!
