Thanks for the comments; according to the collector, who sold the watch to my buddy some years ago, the movement is a Valjoux 23, and neither case nor dial have ever been treated.
I don't dare to open the watch without proper tools for a shot of the innards, might scratch the beauty ... I made a picture of the serial (?) though, if that is of any interest.
As for the 1945 catalog, is there an internet source for it ? Being an enthusiast, not a collector - yet - I don't have any books or such on Heuers.
