I just browsed the catalog for the June 20 Bonhams auction, in London . . . 47 Heuers, some of them very nice (and very rare) and some not-so-nice.

I expect that, once again, we will be explaining that taking some watches that are very "ordinary", transporting them to London, taking some nice photos, and printing a glossy catalog, will not result in favorable prices. I also wonder whether having so much "filler" will detract from the perception of the watches that are truly rare, and belong in a top public auction?

Yes, the dynamics of supply and demand are working, as we see so many watches coming onto the market, as a result of the recent (two-year) run-up in prices. But will there be strong buyers for these 47 watches?
