I never would myself, a watch has a function as a time-keeper before being - arguably - the closest thing to a manly jewel.
However I do remember the case of a friend who did. He had a Speedy Pro, found out it was not working (time hands did not move at all and watch could not be wound), but since he travelled very frequently and had no bank safe to store it, he kept on wearing it all the time because he did not like to leave it at home at his peril. When he was finally able to go to his trusted watchmaker, then did the Speedy leave his wrist.
At first I thought it funny, but I could well see his rationale.
