I can't claim to understand it, but this seems to be the new approach to selling watches.
Have a look at the 10 watches in TAG Heuer's "Heritage" collection, here -- https://www.tagheuer.com/en-us/watches/heritage-watch. Sad that a brand with the amazing heritage that we celebrate every day with our own collections is left with this portfolio in the year 2018.
Compare with the vintage-inspired watches offered by Omega, Breitling and Tudor, and it gets even worse.

: I just don't understand this....
: The Hodinkee OB yes, Calibre11 Siffert yes, but Harrods FFS?
: Does the world really need yet another Autavia LE?
: Especially one associated with a rather pretentious department
: store mainly frequented by tourists and footballers wives.
: I think it cheapens it rather than anything else.
: It was actually announced back in June and the Heueristi missed it,
: or maybe we all just subconsciously pretended it didn't happen
: :-)
