Thanks for the breakdown! I spotted the incorrect hands, but that’s about all. I always learn from everyone on this site!
It caught my eye during my weekend eBay run. A few thoughts:
: - Hands are incorrect for a first execution, but that's not the end
: of the world, as first execution hands can be sourced from the
: community.
: - I believe the serial is wrong for a silver print dial (102XXX in
: the auction, while others were in the late 60XXX range...I don't
: have the Carrera book with me right now but know it's around
: there)
: - The tension ring may also be a replacement, as it's
: unusually close to the lume dots (typically there's a slightly
: larger gap). Could be fine though, and a small nit.
: - Lugs have been polished in the past.
: - It's being sold by a very prominent dealer through their eBay
: account, which is typically used for the lower-end pieces that
: don't hit their site. I was surprised at first, but after
: examining it a bit closer, this one made more sense.
: It's certainly an attractive watch, but as a Carrera fanatic, there
: are simply too many things that would turn me off from it.
