I replaced the strap on mine as soon as I could. The straight one it came on was rather classless. The one is on now gives it a bit of a vintage flavor. It's 18mm at the buckle. It made all the difference. I enjoy wearing it!
You are right, these are not for everyone. These are definitely for open minded people.
