Hello!
I have bought and sold a lot of watches from other forums such as reddit. I always use PayPal “Goods & Services” which is pretty much what you described. I believe the seller pays a 3% premium on the sales price. The purchaser in return gets buyer protection from PayPal: https://www.paypal.com/us/webapps/mpp/paypal-safety-and-security
However I believe people do offer wire transfers to sellers who have a strong transaction history and good references within the community.
Hope this helps!
Best,
Marcus
: Hi,
: I am looking at a watch and want to know how people are generally
: paying for watches - are people really wiring funds directly
: into seller's bank account without watch in hand or are they
: using some kind of escrow service? I know some sellers accept
: paypal if Buyer pays 4% extra, but wanted to know if I was
: missing something.
: Thanks!
