Re: I Agree -- Nice Idea; Questionable Execution

I think the reintroduction of the date at 6 in the Autavia is great, and lends itself to a homage of the ever-popular Viceroy while also giving scope for other variations. Arguably though, the obvious Siffert and Orange boy homages have already been covered; a cal. 12 Skipper or White-boy homage could be on the horizon perhaps? (all these names and not a single use of a model number!)

I agree with the consensus though-the already available Tachy bezel would have been an absolute no-brainer on this!

: It's nice to offer some variety in the heritage line-up, and
: this one does have a different look. The two-registers, with the
: date at six o'clock, and the deletion of the running seconds
: register, is a nice way to evoke the original Viceroy, and adds
: some variety to the line-up.

: That said, the Hour bezel just does not look right on this watch .
: . . needs to be the Tachymeter (which we know TAG Heuer has
: available) or Minutes / Hours (which does not yet exist for the
: new Autavias). Also, I would like to see the main time of day
: hands "in the metal". . . something about them just
: appears to be a little "off".

: There are several good choices among the heritage-based Heuers
: right now (Autavia / Carrera / Monza), and we can expect more to
: come, in the near term. This homage to the Viceroy will not be
: at the top of my personal list.
