These Watches Were Tired / Exhausted

If I recall correctly, some of these watches were making their third or fourth appearance at a Bonhams auction.

I have no interesting in taking the time to track these "tired" lots, from one Bonhams auction to the next, but it does bring home the point that there may be a premium for "new to market" pieces.

: All the major auction houses seem to have been racing to the bottom

: Indeed most of those up for sale at this auction had nothing that
: would cause one to buy them here as opposed to other sales
: channels, surely less expensive. Most of these did not merit the
: limelight and in fact that they were mostly leftovers from
: previous auctions speaks volumes. Something seems to have broken
: down, as if selling ordinary watches in ordinary or less than so
: conditions through a big-name auction house were to give them
: some special kind of noble veneer that would justify the premium
: price - sorry it just isn’t so.
