‘The most important timepiece in the history of spacefligh

The quote that this is “the most important timepiece in the history of human spaceflight’ is not from some biased Heuer nut (ie not from me) but from the BBC Podcast “13 Minutes to the Moon”. The podcast is a 13 part very detailed analysis of the moon landing, focusing heavily on the problems faced just before the landing - and hence leading to this conclusion.

I would highly, highly recommend the podcast to anyone interested in spaceflight. There are in depth interviews with the many critical - but unsung - heroes of the Apollo program (including Michael Collins :-)
It’s really gripping and I learned a lot of new in depth info.

And don’t miss the end of episode 9 where Bob Carlton tells a funny story of the journey of the stopwatch to the Smithsonian.
