Looks like a generic case and whatever was handy. I am fascinated by the "MILEAGE" dial ring. It almost parallels the numbers of the hour scale with one eighth subdivisions. As it only goes to 12 and five eights at the maximum I'd bet it is for calculating the mileage of a Humm-V or 1939 Buick Roadmaster.
