We see dealers using so many different strategies.

Some start at 2X the fair market price and work from there down to the realistic price. Others use the "Price on Inquiry", presumably so that they can abuse the novices / uninformed. On some rare occasions, we see a dealer list a realistic price, at which he will be willing to sell the watch and someone might actually want to buy it. But these instances are rare.
