Very sad news indeed. Another important collector gone too soon, like Chuck Maddox. And like Chuck, Gianvittorio was happy to share his knowledge and help other grow.
I only had a couple of phone calls with him, and although in the early 2010s I worked for a period close to his coffee factory, for some reason or another we never managed to meet. I regret it now.
He was very competent and did bring a lot of passion in all he cared for as a collector.
Having seen the funeral announcement in the other post, I think he'd have liked that his picture is one cropped of himself at the Autodromo di Monza, and that a watch does show on his wrist.
May he rest in peace, and time console his dears.
