In Response To: Re: Jo Siffert @ LeMans ()

Hi Chuck,

Thanks for the photos. Is there also a nice shot in the film showing McQueen with his Monaco?

Several... Actually most if not all of my original postings of Snaps from LeMan's are still available on the forum, here. But to save you time:
Previous postings along these lines live at the following locations:

And for a run down how I do these Screen Snaps, be sure to read:

Of Screen Snaps, LeMans, LCD's and LED's...

Also be aware of the Celebrity Watches Page by David Yamasaki (Akira)...

I inherited my father's Monaco after he passed away and I had it redone by TAG-Heuer.It was the only thing that was left to me, thanks to a greedy wife (he was re-married). It looks mint again.

Only when I found out that Mcqueen wore this watch in Le Mans I understood why my father had bought it ( I was 10 then)in 1970. He was a rally driver for a hobby and also a big Mcqueen fan.All pieces fell into place for me when I realised this. Apart from the stunning impression the watch makes to me, it has a real sentimental value for me now. From this my Heuer interest( Monaco, Autavia, Carrera) and collection developed.

I'd wager that despite the Greedy Step-Mother, you were left of many MANY fond memories with this watch. Unfortunately, I no longer have the watch that I really enjoyed of my father's... But I have hope that someday I will find and obtain another example of it.

Would really appreciate if such such a shot would be available although I know it is difficult.I am sure I am not the only one you would do a great favor!

Check out the links, they are what I have at the moment, I have pretty much hit the bottom of the wel with them. About the only thing I haven't done was to circle back around and grabbed a picture of the Solar Productions 908 Camera Car.

Let me know if I can be of any further assistance to you!
